Trinity Theological College Annual Lecture – with Don Carson
Out of the Mud and Mire: Living for Christ in a Secular Age
Don’t miss internationally renowned Christian leader Don Carson, addressing us at this year’s Trinity Theological College Annual Lecture at Riverview Church.
The aim of this event is to steel and encourage Christians for the task of living for Jesus and proclaiming the gospel in our (mainly Western) context.
Don Carson was born in Quebec, Canada. He served as a pastor in British Colombia before embarking on a PhD in John’s Gospel in Cambridge, UK. He is currently Research Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School Illinois (TEDS) where he has served since 1978. He is also President of The Gospel Coalition, which he co-founded with Tim Keller in 2005.
Dr Carson is a clear and passionate expositor of God’s Word. He is particularly noted for his ability to critique cultural shifts from a biblical perspective. The following sample from his many books is indicative of his abilities and interests: The Sermon on the Mount (Baker 1978), How Long, O Lord? Reflections on Suffering and Evil (Baker 1990), The Gospel according to John (Eerdmans 1991), The Gagging of God: Christianity Confronts Pluralism (Zondervan 1996), The Intolerance of Tolerance (Eerdmans 2009), and Praying with Paul: A Call to Spiritual Reformation (2015 Baker 2nd Ed).
