Our College YearStudy at Trinity is different to other universities. Our college year commences in the last week of January with an Orientation and intensive program that runs across two weeks. This is an essential prerequisite for all full time and Greek language students. There are also essential components of the week that part time students should attend to get the best preparation for their time at Trinity. What your normal week will look likeMonday at College is usually class contact free to allow time for study either at home or in the college library. Lectures run across three blocks –
mornings run from 9.00 am–12.15 pm, afternoons from 2.15 pm–5.20 pm and
evenings from 6.15 pm-9.30pm.
For one day each week lunchtime includes our Communication and Notices time where all students and staff come together to hear about events and news. Pastoral Care groups and Ministry Focus run for one hour following lunch - this is time set aside explicitly for the pastoral and spiritual side of life at college. All full time students are expected to attend these and part time students are encouraged to take up the opportunity to put their academic work into practice. Ministry Focus timetable Our semesters run across 18 weeks (excluding orientation in Semester 1).
The remaining two weeks in Semester 1 and one week in Semester 2 are class free weeks - these generally have no class contact. Occasionally catch up classes are run to makeup for classes missed due to public holidays. Academic Calendar overview link |
