Trinity Student Community

Crèche

Margaret Carrick

Each semester a Trinity volunteer runs a crèche against one of our units so that students with children up to four years of age can have free child minding while attending the class. The unit selected is one that spouses of full time students can study free.

The parent and children are welcomed on the third floor each week of lectures from 8.45 a.m.

If you would like to know more about the crèche or want to register your child to attend crèche please contact Susan at reception.

We can often use an extra set of hands (If you know of someone who loves to work with children and would welcome an opportunity as a Trinity Volunteer please let Susan know. This person must have, or be willing to get, a Working with Children Check)

To read about the crèche co-ordinator, Margaret Carrick, take a look at page 3 in our Summer 2005 Trinity News.

Further information is available by e-mailing us or on 9228 9067.

Ministry Focus

This is an opportunity to learn about some of the many important areas and issues of Christian service not covered sufficiently in class. The sessions are led by a faculty member or visiting speakers and are open to all students. Once a month we use these sessions for a corporate response to God as a community of believers – for prayer, praise and preaching.

In 2006 we heard from our alumni with both solid Bible exposition and on their ministries both current and future, a missionary from Thailand, pastors from South Africa, well-known evangelist and Bible-teacher John Chapman, to name a few.

Mission Week

Mission Week

Student and faculty members work in a team with churches or Christian groups for one week each year. This important faculty-led team event gives students hands-on learning at they go into communities, whilst enabling the College to encourage and support others doing Gospel Work. To see what we did and where we went in 2007, why not take a look in our November 2007 Trinity News.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care Groups meet after lunch one afternoon a week from 1.00 to 2.00 pm.

The groups give us an opportunity to support and encourage each other in our Christian lives, and especially to pray together. By meeting regularly, we develop confidence to share honestly with each other about our needs and struggles. This enables us to discuss issues together, and to pray in a focused way for each other. Anything shared in the group should therefore be regarded as confidential.

In addition to meeting weekly, each member of the group meets individually once per semester with the faculty member who leads it. This is an opportunity to discuss any issues that may not be appropriate to raise in the group.

Each group also meets socially once a semester—when, where, and how is for the group to decide. Spouses and children are invited to participate in these occasions, so that we get to know a bit better those who will feature in our prayers for that member of our group.

Pastoral Care Groups are meant to be helpful! If for some reason yours isn’t, please approach the faculty member who leads it with suggestions about what would improve its usefulness for you.

Trinity Women

Trinity Picnic 2006

Trinity Women exists to provide practical ministry input and relationship building opportunities for wives of students and women at Trinity. We hope you will be able to join with us in these events.

Some events are just for the women of Trinity. Others are designed for the family. Events such as seminars, picnics, breakfast, lunches and evening enjoying coffee and cake have been held across the past year.

Take a look at our Semester 2 2008 program here.

Weekend Away

During orientation, faculty members and new students (with their families) go away together for a short weekend enabling them to get to know each other better and providing an opportunity to learn together in ways that are not so easy in class. For photos from the 2008 Weekend Away why not check out our February 2008 Trinity News.
